I was very pleased to see
this announcement earlier today – Poet Laureate Simon Armitage is promoting The Laurel Prize, for poetry themed around environmental issues, and the natural world. He'll be donating his £5,000 a year laureate honorarium to the prize fund, and there'll be prizes for best collection as well as best individual poems, plus a prize-giving day at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Which all sounds good. What are you waiting for?
