I have long been saying that there is a serious plagiarism problem with contemporary poetry but because (despite publishing sixteen volumes) I am still an outsider poet, no one in the poetry establishment pays the slightest attention.
This sad story illustrates almost everything that is wrong with contemporary British poetry. The poetry industry; the creative writing courses and poetry workshops multiplying like bacteria; the pressure to publish even when you have nothing worth publishing and chronic political correctness all feature heavily in this farce. Philip Larkin must be revolving in his grave.
